Vanessa Edwards, P.A.
Vanessa Edwards is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in Internal Medicine with over 20 years of healthcare experience.
Ms. Edwards graduated with honors from the City University of New York, York College in 2011 with her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. In 2012, she went on to work in Family Medicine at Cam Care Medical in Cambria Heights, NY focusing on disease prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles. In 2014, she joined New York City’s Health and Hospital’s/South Brooklyn Health Ambulatory Care department providing care to underserved communities. She is cross-trained in multiple disciplines including Primary Care, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, and Occupational Health. She assisted with opening multiple COVID testing satellite sites throughout New York City by training medical doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Ms. Edwards possessed a strong desire to care for patients from a young age and completed an internship volunteering at New York Hospital Queens while in high school. Before becoming a PA she was certified as a medical assistant, nurse’s assistant, phlebotomist, and patient care technician.
She is deeply passionate about helping others with the desire of pursuing a career as a PA. She has mentored both pre-Physician Assistant students, considering a career in the medical field, and Physician
Assistant students in need of support while in training. She has often been a guest speaker at her alma
mater.
PA Edwards is certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
She is an active member of the NYC Medical Reserve Corps (NYC MCR) and the American Association of
Physician Assistants (AAPA).
