Preparing for the Summer Season

Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors, travel, and spend time with family. Taking a few simple steps now can help you stay healthy, safe, and comfortable during the warmer months.

  • Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially during hot weather.
  • Protect your skin. Use sunscreen, wear hats, and avoid too much direct sun exposure.
  • Keep up with medications. Make sure prescriptions are refilled before vacations or travel.
  • Manage allergies and asthma. Summer heat, pollen, and air quality can trigger symptoms.
  • Eat healthy foods. Fresh fruits and vegetables help keep your body energized and healthy.
  • Stay active safely. Exercise during cooler morning or evening hours when possible.
  • Watch for signs of heat illness. Dizziness, headaches, nausea, and extreme sweating may require medical attention.
  • Schedule wellness visits. Summer is a good time to check in with your healthcare provider.

Stay healthy and enjoy your summer safely.

If you have questions about heat safety, allergies, asthma, hydration, medications, or summer wellness, contact your Camcare Medical provider. Our team is here to help keep you and your family healthy all season long.

Our Mission

At Camcare Medical, our mission is to provide high-quality, compassionate care that treats the whole person—not just the symptoms. We are committed to listening, educating, and partnering with you on your health journey.

JULY – SUMMER SAFETY & HEAT ILLNESS PROTECTION
Staying Safe During the Summer Heat
During the hot summer months, high temperatures and humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Infants, young children, older adults, and individuals with chronic medical conditions are especially vulnerable. Staying hydrated, wearing lightweight clothing, limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, using sunscreen, and spending time in air-conditioned or shaded areas are simple but important ways to stay safe.

Heat waves can be particularly dangerous for seniors in our community. Older adults may not feel thirsty as often and can become dehydrated more quickly. Take time to check on elderly family members, friends, and neighbors to ensure they have plenty of water, access to a cool environment, and any assistance they may need during periods of extreme heat. A simple phone call or visit can make a meaningful difference.

Camcare Medical encourages everyone to practice summer safety, stay hydrated, and help protect the most vulnerable members of our community throughout the season.
